In spite of the fact that Pokemon Go is a total hit since the release, Clash Royale managed to snatch the number 1 spot as the Apple’s 2016 best game of the year. The Apple Inc. announced the result for its annual game of the year around for both iPhone and iPad.
Clash Royale Beats Pokemon GO
Clash Royale is a free-to-play mobile strategy game developed by Supercell. The game took its first flight on 4th January 2016 and as expected, Supercell did a great job for this game. Clash Royale is a head-to-head card battle almost similar to Hearthstone by Blizzard. Players can build a deck of cards with their own strategy to help them win the game. While Clash Royale is a free-to-play game, players still have the option to spend cash to improve and level up their cards.
It is stunning to see a card game beat Niantic’s Pokemon Go without a sweat. As Pokemon Go didn’t even manage to get a spot in the top 10 best games for iPhone and iPad.
Clash Royale Takes The Crown
Among the other iOS games, Clash Royale made its way to take home the crown as Apple’s best game of the year. Next to Clash Royale is the “Reigns”, “Plants vs. Zombies: Heroes” takes the third spot, followed by “twofold inc.,” “Riptide GP: Renegade,” “FIFA Mobile Soccer,” then “Rodeo Stampede.” The eight spot was awarded to “klocki” followed by “Steppy Pants,” and finally “The Trail.”
Aside from the annual best game of the year, Apple also announced the best apps for 2016. “Prisma” managed to take the followed by “MSQRD” and “Quartz” on the third place.
